The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight includes a trio of historic aircraft which will fly over the areas of both Eastleigh and Southampton to mark the birth of aviation in the region 100 years ago this year as well as the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Britain. The trio will include; the Hurricane, the UK’s only flying Lancaster and the Spitfire, which was designed and built locally and took its first test flight from Southampton Airport in 1936. The best viewing points will be along Southampton water from Weston Shore to Royal Victoria Country Park and Hamble Point. The flypasts will be subject to weather conditions.
